An accomplished professional in financial investment services, Kynah Astrid Inshalla Thomas has achieved success in a leadership role at Aon, a renowned finance firm focused on business growth in North Carolina. As the project manager for defined benefit since 2016, she is responsible for four major clients, including their billing, finance, and client satisfaction, and leads all projects from an HR perspective.

Wielding a bachelor’s degree in legal studies and dispute resolution from the University of New Haven, Ms. Thomas launched her career at Prudential in 2007. During her nine years at the company, she participated in a defined benefit plan-geared program that offered a rotating work experience across different roles. Her most significant position was as a defined benefit solutions manager, ultimately giving way to promotion as team manager.

In addition, Ms. Thomas successfully led and hosted a symposium at the company’s Black Leadership Forum, directing and overseeing a team of 8-10 individuals responsible for various aspects of the event, which attracted approximately 450 attendees. When she joined Aon, largely based on her desire to relocate from Connecticut to North Carolina, she became involved in the company’s Black Leadership Team. Along with her manager, she also co-founded the Carolinas chapter of the Black Professional Network.

Driven by a strong work ethic and commitment to getting things done, Ms. Thomas strives to continue excelling in her career in the future. Additionally, as a single mother, she is constantly inspired to succeed for her daughter, Skylar, as family has always been incredibly important to her. Outside of work, she’s passionate about gardening and traveling, having been to Thailand, Africa, Ecuador, and several other countries.
